UK nations March 2022: Different leaders for each nation, Peugeot 3008 on Northern Irish podium
The Peugeot 3008 ranks #3 in Northern Ireland in March.
Thanks to SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in March. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are included in the March 2022 UK update. Wales (+2.5%) is the only nation in positive year-on-year to 9,523 sales, with Scotland (-7.4%) and Northern Ireland (-9.3%) containing their fall, reaching 21,069 and 4,186 units respectively. England (-15.6%) performs worse than the UK market as a whole (-14.3%) with 208,419 registrations. Year-to-date, 3 out of 4 nations are in positive: Northern Ireland is up 15.2% to 11,060 sales, Wales is up 13.6% to 15,518 and Scotland up 9.7% to 37,079 sales. England (-3.9%) at 353.064 registrations, single-handedly tilts the UK market into negative.
Each UK nation has its own #1 this month, with the Tesla Model Y #1 in England, the Hyundai Tucson #1 in Northern Ireland, the Vauxhall Corsa #1 in Scotland with 6.5% share and the MG ZS #1 in Wales for the 2nd time in the past 5 months, and also #4 in Scotland. Other podium finishers are the Tesla Model 3 #2 in England, the Ford Kuga #2 in Northern Ireland, the Ford Puma #2 in Scotland and Wales, the Nissan Qashqai #3 in England, the Peugeot 3008 #3 in Northern Ireland, the Vauxhall Mokka #3 in Scotland and the MG HS #3 in Wales.
Other great performances include the Renault Captur now #3 year-to-date in Northern Ireland, the Toyota Yaris up to #4 in Northern Ireland, MG placing two models on the Welsh podium with the ZS at #1 and the HS at #3 and two models in the Scottish Top 10: the ZS at #4 and the HS at #9. The Vauxhall Crossland up to #6 in Northern Ireland and its first English Top 10 for the Toyota C-HR in England (#9).
