The Peugeot 208 is inside all UK nations’ Top 10 for the first time.
Thanks to SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in April. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are included in the April 2022 UK update. This month Northern Ireland fares best at -2.5% to 3,212 registrations, with Wales (4,190) at -12.6% and Scotland (10,468) at -13.8% also bettering the overall decline rate (-15.7%). England is down -16.4% to 101,015 units. Year-to-date, this time Northern Ireland (14,272) is the best performer at +10.7% followed by Wales (19,708) at +6.7% and Scotland (47,547) at +3.5%. England (454,079) is the only UK nation in negative so far this year at -7% and single-handedly pulls the overall UK market into decline (-5.3%).
The podium finishers are as follows: The Nissan Qashqai is #1 in England and now #1 year-to-date there also, #2 in Northern Ireland and #3 in Scotland and Wales. The Hyundai Tucson is #1 in Northern Ireland, the Ford Puma #1 in Scotland and Wales and #2 in England, the Mini #2 in Scotland, the Toyota Yaris #2 in Wales, the Vauxhall Corsa #3 in England and the Peugeot 208 #3 in Northern Ireland, #5 in Scotland, #6 in England and #10 in Wales, reaching the Top 10 of each UK nation for the first time.
Other great performers include the VW Polo up to #4 in Scotland and Wales, the Dacia Sandero #6 in Scotland and #10 in Northern Ireland, the Audi A1 #7 in Scotland, the Audi A3 up to #7 in England and #8 in Scotland, the Hyundai Kona #8 in Northern Ireland and the Audi Q2 #9 in Wales.
