In November the Swiss new car market is cut -17.6% year-on-year to 18,825 registrations, meaning the year-to-date tally is now up just 3.2% at 213,958 units. BEV sales soar 63.4% year-on-year to 3,596 and a whopping 19.1% share vs. 9.6% a year ago while PHEV is up 5.7% to 1,981 and 10.5% share vs. 8.2% and HEV+MHEV is up 11.4% to 4,477 and 23.8% share vs. 17.6% last year.

BMW (-5.7%) resists very well and takes the lead of the brands ranking for the second time ever after April 2020 with a solid 9.8% share vs. 9% so far this year. Volkswagen (-39.2%) is hit hard but gains one spot on October to #2 with 9.2% of the market vs 10.8% YTD. Leader last month, Mercedes (-17.4%) falls to #3 as it matches the market evolution. Skoda (-8.2%) and Audi (-30.1%) camp on their positions at #4 and #5 respectively. Tesla (+95.5%) is up 25 spots on last month to land at #6 while Dacia (+43.9%) and Hyundai (+27.5%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Polestar (+2833.3%), Cupra (+114.1%) and Citroen (+63.7%) make themselves noticed.

Model-wise, the Tesla Model 3 (+30.1%) lodges a 9th monthly win in Switzerland with 2.5% of the market, however it still ranks #2 year-to-date below the Skoda Octavia (-10%) ranking #6 this month. The Dacia Duster (+130.9%) leaps up a spectacular 42 spots on October to land directly in 2nd place overall with 2% share vs. #23 and 1% year-to-date. The Tesla Model Y rallies back up 205 ranks on last month to set its tyres on the third step of the podium. The VW T-Roc (+5.7%) is up four spots to #4 ahead of last month’s leader the Skoda Enyaq. The BMW X3 (+55.9%) and Volvo XC40 (+13.3%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Among recent launches, below the Model Y and Enyaq we find the Toyota Yaris Cross (#34), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (#42), VW ID.4 (#44), Audi Q4 (#49), Mercedes EQA (#54) and BMW IX (#62).
