Argentina November 2021: Toyota Hilux ends 14 months of Fiat Cronos reign, market down -18.7%

The Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina in November.

The Argentinean new vehicle market recedes -18.7% year-on-year in November to 28,360 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 13.1% to 363,931. Brand leader Toyota (+21.4%) braves the negative context to improve to 20.3% share vs. 19% so far this year. This is almost doubles the amount of the #2, Fiat (-15.4%) resisting slightly better than the market. It’s a month to forget for Volkswagen (-43.4%) as well as Renault (-35.5%). Mercedes (+44.6%), Peugeot (+17.3%) and Nissan (+10.3%) also manage year-on-year gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Mini (+320%), DS (+127.8%), BMW (+113.9%) and Kia (+56.1%) shine.

Over in the models ranking, after 14 consecutive months of reign the Fiat Cronos (-18.1%) is toppled by the Toyota Hilux (+17.8%) by 39 sales. The Cronos however comfortably remains the YTD best-seller with a 10,300-unit advantage over the Hilux. The Peugeot 208 (+32%) repeats in third place and ranks #5 year-to-date, while the VW Amarok (+13.9%) ranks 4th once again vs. #3 so far this year and the Ford Ranger (+4.2%) stays at #5 vs. #6 YTD, making it three pickups in the Argentinean Top 5 like last month. The Toyota Corolla (+49.9%) and Renault Sandero (+13.6%) are also up in the remainder of the Top 10. The Toyota Corolla Cross (#13) leads recent launches above the Renault Alaskan (#17), VW Taos (#18) and Ford Bronco (#35).
