Greece September 2021: Opel Corsa best-seller in market containing its fall (-7%)

The Greek new car market slows down its fall in September to -7% year-on-year at 6.612 registrations, sending the year-to-date volume up 36.2% to 81.758 units. Toyota (-15.9%) continues to dominate the brands ranking but posts a weak 11.2% share vs. 13.1% so far this year. Peugeot (-1.2%) resists at 10.4% of the market while Hyundai (+40.7%) soars year-on-year but drops one spot on August to #3. Strikingly, 6 of the next 7 remaining brands in the Top 10 score a year-on-year gain, with Kia (+79.4%) and Audi (+50.9%) the most dynamic followed by BMW (+13.2%), Citroen (+13.1%), Opel (+2.9%) and Volkswagen (+2.1%). Suzuki follows the market with a -6.9% fall. Below, Tesla (+2300%), Lexus (+133.3%), Mazda (+72.4%), Land Rover (+71.4%), Seat (+50.7%) and Jeep (+25.7%) make themselves noticed with impressive year-on-year lifts.
Model-wise, the Opel Corsa (+49.8%) easily snaps the pole position for the 2nd time in the past four months with 5.4% share. It distances the Hyundai i20 (+2722.2%) and Citroen C3 (+16.4%) both in great shape while the Peugeot 208 (-7.5%) is a little weaker. The Peugeot 2008 (-1.4%) advances one spot on last month to #5. Whereas it monopolised the podium in August, Toyota has no nameplate in the September Top 5, with the Corolla (+14.1%) is the best-seller for the month at #6. The Kia Stonic (+500%) shines at #7 while the year-to-date leader, the Toyota Yaris (-24.5%) is down seven ranks on August to #8. The Seat Ibiza (+193.5%), Peugeot 3008 (+115.8%) and Audi Q3 (+77.2%) stun further down. The Opel Mokka (#43) is the best-selling recent launch in the country ahead of the Citroen C4 (#53) and Hyundai Bayon (#54).
