Toyota (+117.4%) continues to dominate the brands charts and closes the first quarter as the easy winner whereas Volkswagen (+146.2%) had held the annual top spot for the past 15 consecutive years. A momentous shift is brewing in Argentina. Fiat (+168.2%) also manages to outpace the market in third place but Chevrolet (+37.6%) underperforms markedly in a Top 4 unchanged on last month. Peugeot (+168.6%) and Ford (+150.3%) also shine but all remaining Top 10 brands improve slower than the market, with Renault (+77.4%) faring the worst.
Over in the models ranking, the Fiat Cronos (+554.3%) is up almost 7-fold year-on-year to snap a 7th consecutive monthly win at 8.7% share and 10% so far this year. The Toyota Hilux (+100.9%) almost matches the market in 2nd place, followed by the VW Amarok (+243%) and Gol (+139.7%) both in splendid shape. The Ford Ranger (+332.6%), Peugeot 208 (+247%), Toyota Yaris (+136.8%) and Ford Ka (+121.9%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10 but the Chevrolet Onix (-12.1%) goes backwards. The VW Nivus is up two spots on last month to remain the best-selling recent launch (<12 months) at #13 overall.
