Ukraine February 2020: Renault (+68%) reclaims top spot off Toyota (+51.5%) in market up 20.9%
Renault Logan sales shoot up 158.7% in Ukraine in February.
New car sales in Ukraine continue to shoot up for now at +20.9% year-on-year in February to 6.963 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 27.4% to 14.035. This month Renault (+68%) reclaims the brands top spot off Toyota (+51.5%), with both manufacturers significantly lifting the overall market with stunning gains and accounting for a combined 33.2% share. No additional Top 6 brands outpace the market, with Kia (-20.4%), Hyundai (-12.1%) and Nissan (-9.1%) even enduring steep falls. Suzuki (+108.3%), Mercedes (+58.3%) and Mazda (+47.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Opel (+518.2%), Haval (+350%), Citroen (+94.2%), Ford (+71.3%), Porsche (+69.7%), Fiat (+67.7%) and Mitsubishi (+47.9%) impress.
Model-wise, the Toyota RAV4 (+51.1%) holds onto the top spot, resisting an aggressive return by the Renault Logan (+158.7%) only 6 units below and up 4 spots on January to #2. The Renault Duster (+11.8%) is up but trails the market’s growth rate and is down one rank to #3. The Toyota Prado (+502.4%) posts the most spectacular gain in the Top 10 above the Renault Sandero (+106%), Skoda Octavia (+48.9%) and Nissan X-Trail (+34%). The Ford Kuga (+300%), Fiat Tipo (+190.3%), Mercedes GLE (+179.3%), Suzuki SX4 (+165%), Ford Ranger (+150%) and Chery Tiggo 7 (+80.6%) also score stunning upticks in the remainder of the Top 30. The VW T-Roc is the most popular recent launch at #44.
