Ukraine February 2019: Kia Sportage best-seller in 6th consecutive market decline

The Kia Sportage is the best-selling vehicle in Ukraine in February.

New car sales in Ukraine endure a 6th consecutive month of decline and 8th drop in the past 12 months in February at -1.9% to 5.758 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -11.8% to 11.016. Renault (+35.8%) continues to blissfully ignore the surrounding negative context and holds onto the brands pole position but this time only has a meagre 9-unit advantage over #2 Toyota (+3.2%) just as Kia (+309.5%) and Hyundai (+19.5%) shoot up below. BMW (+72.5%) and Peugeot (+19%) also shine in the Top 10 where Volkswagen (-58.7%) implodes. Further down, Jaguar (+342.9%), Fiat (+169.6%), Lada (+118.2%), Land Rover (+87.2%), Volvo (+84.6%), Subaru (+65.5%), Honda (+46.9%), Geely (+40%), Lexus (+33.7%) and Porsche (+26.9%) stand out.

Over in the models ranking, the Kia Sportage (+416.3%) multiplies its February 2018 sales by five to take the lead, but the Renault Duster (+94.8%) easily retains the YTD pole position. The Toyota RAV4 (+51.9%) and Hyundai Tucson (+50%) make the Top 4 100% SUV with the Renault Logan (+30.5%) the best-selling passenger car at #5 overall. The BMW X5 (+124.4%), VW Touareg (+109.5%), Mazda CX-5 (+74%) and Skoda Kodiaq (+63.8%) also shine further down, while the Audi Q8 (#17) tops new launches above the Skoda Karoq (#68), Haval H6 (#89) and Chery Tiggo 4 (#98). We welcome the Lexus UX at #112 and the Rolls Royce Cullinan at #193.
