Ukraine July 2019: Renault (+65.9%), Toyota (+43.7%) headline largest gain in 1.5 years (+13.9%)

The Sandero (+154%) helps Renault up 65.9% to #1 brand in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian new car market soars +13.9% in July to 7.617 units, recording its 4th year-on-year gain in the past 5 months, its largest gain since February 2018 and highest monthly volume since December 2017. That’s more than a few reasons to put a smile on the carmakers present in this market, with the YTD volume flipping into positive for the first time in 2019 at +0.3% and 46.310 units. The Top 4 brands all post absolutely fantastic scores: Renault (+65.9%) leads ahead of Toyota (+43.7%), Skoda (+36.6%) and Kia (+35.8%) and in fact no one does better in the Top 15 except Audi (+62%) at #15. Also impressive: Ravon (+363.6%), Seat (+164.3%), Opel (+125%), Jaguar (+120%), Lada (+117.2%), Mini (+80%), Fiat (+52.6%), Chery (+27.8%) and Lexus (+23.8%).

In the models ranking, the Kia Sportage (+59.1%) holds onto the top spot ahead of the Renault Duster (+37.6%), reproducing the YTD order, while the Renault Logan (+61.8%), Skoda Octavia (+39.3%) and Renault Sandero (+159%) all manage to slide into the Top 5 in a market traditionally fond on SUVs. And in fact the rest of the Top 10 is only SUVs, led by the Toyota Prado (+198.9%) and RAV4 (+33%) with the Nissan Qashqai (+19%) and X-Trail (+18.8%) also doing very well. The Audi Q8 is up 40 spots on June to cement its title of #1 newcomer at #17, distancing the BMW X7 (#39), Citroen C5 Aircross (#63) and Hyundai Kona (#66).
