Jetour appears in its first market outside China.

The Uruguayan new light vehicle market sinks -10.7% year-on-year in February to 2.795 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -5.4% to 5.778 units. Renault (-14.1%) threepeats in the brands pole position at 15.5% share, this despite a steep fall. The Top 5 is identical to last month, with Volkswagen (+2.4%), Suzuki (-0.6%), Chevrolet (-2.3%) and Fiat (-28.6%) in tow. Ford (+74.4%) is by far the best performer in the Top 10, with Peugeot (+8.1%) also solid but Toyota (-27.2%) freefalls. Chinese carmakers once again swim upstream at +8% this month and +13.1% YTD to roughly 10% share, with Chery (#11), Great Wall (+45%), Changan (#16), Geely (+100%) shining and Karry (#19) and Jetour (#35) scoring their very first sales in the country, the latter marking its first appearance outside of China. Model-wise, the Renault Kwid reclaims the top spot both for the month and YTD, distancing the Suzuki Celerio, Chevrolet Onix Joy, Fiat Strada and VW Up. Leader last month, the Suzuki Alto is down to #6, while the VW T-Cross is up 7 ranks to #11.
