Croatia October 2019: Fiat (+454.7%) places Panda #2

The Fiat Panda is up to #2 in Croatia in October.

The Croatian new car market edges up 2.4% year-on-year in October to 4.104 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up a similar 2.5% to 55.441. Volkswagen (-8.4%) goes against the grain with a steep fall but easily remains atop the brands ranking at 17.5% share vs. 13.4% YTD. Skoda (+27.7%) soars to #2 both in October and YTD, knocking down Renault (-30.5%) but it’s Fiat (+454.7%) that posts the largest gain in market this month, up 10 spots on September to land in third place with 7.2% share, double its YTD level. Mazda (+21.4%), Opel (+20.7%), Suzuki (+13.1%) and Toyota (+11.9%) also shine in the Top 10 with double-digit gains whereas Peugeot (-22.2%) and Hyundai (-10.9%) endure double-digit drops. Further down, Porsche (+433.3%), Smart (+88.9%), Audi (+72.9%) and Seat (+22.6%) stand out.

In the models ranking, below the Skoda Octavia (+58.6%) back to its traditional top spot, the Fiat Panda is up a further 4 spots on September to land at #2 overall, but this is still not enough to warrant an entry among the Top 20 best-sellers YTD. The VW Golf (-24.9%), Polo (-37.6%) and Suzuki Vitara (+30%) round up the Top 5 above the VW T-Roc (+28.1%) while the VW T-Cross is down 4 ranks on last month to #9. The Ford Focus (-15.8%) breaks into the Top 10, the Skoda Karoq is up 2 spots to #16 and the Fiat 500L (#17), Hyundai i30 (#18) and Opel Insignia (#20) all make an appearance in the Top 20.
