Greece September 2019: VW (+94.4%), Hyundai (+89.9%), Mercedes (+118.9%) recover in market up 19.8%
The VW T-Cross breaks into the Greek Top 10 this month.
The Greek new car market enjoys a third consecutive month of double-digit gains in September at +19.8% to 5.899 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 10.3% to 92.772. 6 of the Top 7 best-selling carmakers outpace the galloping Greek market, including Toyota (+37%) and Volkswagen (+94.4%) atop the charts. Opel (+3.8%) is the odd one out at #3, distancing Citroen (+31%), Hyundai (+89.9%), Nissan (+43.2%) and Mercedes (+118.9%). In contrast, Peugeot (-29%) and Suzuki (-23.9%) freefall. Further down, Kia (+115%), Seat (+101.5%), Mitsubishi (+84%), Land Rover (+66.7%) and Audi (+47.7%) also shine.
In the models ranking, the Toyota Yaris (+43.1%) solidly holds onto the top spot, selling more than double any other nameplate in the country starting with the Citroen C3 (+10.4%) and VW Polo (+74.8%). The Toyota Corolla (+866.7%), Mercedes A-Class (+229.2%) and Nissan Qasqhai (+159.5%) all post extravagant gains in the remainder of he Top 10 while the VW T-Cross soars 26 spots on August to break into the Top 10 at #10.
