Bulgaria July 2019: Dacia (+36.8%) tops market up 2.7%

Dacia sales vastly outperform a dynamic Bulgarian market in July.

It’s an outstanding result for the Bulgarian new car market in July, up 2.7% on a July 2018 volume that was boosted by pre-WLTP sales, lifting the year-to-date tally up 7.9% to 27.165. Keep in mind that a large part of new car sales in Bulgaria (estimated to be from 20 to 30% of total sales) never sees the roads of the country as it is re-exported to other EU nations. Dacia (+36.8%) surges to 14.1% share in pole position, that’s almost two percentage points of share above its YTD level (12.2%), with Volkswagen (+11.3%) also in excellent shape, up 3 spots on June to #2. Skoda (-17.7%) on the other hand slides down, followed by Renault (-12.7%) also in difficulty and Toyota (+3.8%) slightly outpacing the market. Kia (+51.7%) and Peugeot (+33.7%) also shine in the Top 10 while further down, Mini (+477.8%), Maserati (+350%), Fiat (+215%), Jeep (+125%), Mitsubishi (+76.5%), Lexus (+33.3%) and Suzuki (+24.5%) stand out.
