Bahrain First Half 2019: Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Sunny survive in market down -14.3%

Toyota Land Cruiser sales are up 12.1% so far in 2019 in Bahrain.

The Bahraini new car market skids down a worrying -14.3% year-on-year over the First Half of 2019 to 14.772 sales. Both Toyota (-18.8%) and Nissan (-22.4%) fall faster than the market whereas Hyundai (+4.5%) posts a sturdy uptick at #3 and is joined by Chevrolet (+8.4%), Isuzu (+11.2%), MG (+145.3%) and Cadillac (+56.3%) further down. Lexus (-6.6%) and Honda (-7.1%) also manage to contain their fall but Mitsubishi (-49%), Kia (-35.6%) and Mazda (-22%) all freefall. The Toyota Land Cruiser (+12.1%) and Nissan Sunny (+2.5%) ignore the surrounding gloom to widen the gap with the rest of the market, namely the Toyota Prado (-38.2%) and Camry (-22.8%) while the Hyundai Accent (-5.8%) is up 3 spots to break into the Top 5. The Isuzu TF (+180.2%), Lexus ES (+63%), Honda City (+63.5%) and Toyota Avalon (+50.5%) stun and the Toyota Ace lands directly at #14.
