Bahrain H1 2026: Jetour (+37.6%), Haval (+17.8%) defy market off -27.3%

After losing -18.4% over Q1, the Bahraini new light vehicle market is down an even harsher -27.3% over H1 to just 13,165 units. Toyota (-23.1%) remains ultra dominant at 31.7% share, improving on the 29.9% of a year ago. Chinese Jetour (+37.6%) and Haval (+17.8%) defy the surrounding gloom and jump up to #2 and #3 respectively, while Hyundai (-3%) limits its fall and is up four spots on H1 2025 to #4. Another Chinese, Changan (+8.7%) also stands up and lifts 10 ranks to #5. In contrast Nissan (-69.5%), Lexus (-57.8%), MG (-50.7%) and Suzuki (-41%) all implode. We welcome Chery at #15, Soueast at #17, BYD at #18, iCAUR at #24, Denza at #28 and Jaecoo at #29. All in all, Chinese carmakers are up 17.8% to 31.6% share vs. 21.9% over H1 2025.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-40.6%) remains on top despite falling even faster than the market. The Jetour T2 (+0.2%) is stable year-on-year, earning the #2 spot over H1 vs. #5 a year ago. Toyota holds the next 6 spots, with the Coaster (+183.2%), Camry (+39.9%) and Ace (+27.7%) the most dynamic, the Urban Cruiser (+3.2%) and Yaris Sedan (+1.6%) up and the Hilux (-38.6%) in complete freefall. The Haval H9 (+163.4%) is up to #10 vs. #41 a year ago and #25 over the Full Year 2025. The Jetour G700 is the best-selling recent launch at #14 followed by the Soueast S06 at #23 and Chery Arrizo 5 at #30.
