Bahrain Q1 2026: Market down -18.4%, Haval up to #3 brand

The Haval H9 is up to #6 in Bahrain over Q1.

New car sales in Bahrain are in difficulty over Q1 at -18.4% year-on-year to 7,463. The top 3 carmakers defy the negative trend: Toyota (+8.1%) goes from 27.9% share a year ago to 37%, Jetour (+74.8%) more than doubles its footprint from 5.5% to 11.7% and Haval (+11%) progresses from 3.8% to 5.1% and is up 10 spots on its FY2025 ranking to #3. Changan (+22.9%) is the only additional Top 10 member in positive just as Nissan (-60.1%), MG (-46.6%) and Lexus (-39.4%) are hit the hardest. Notice the arrival of BYD’s uber luxury brand Yangwang with its first sale in this market.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-13.4%) holds onto the top spot with an improved 7% share, distancing the Jetour T2 (+18.5%) at 4.6% and the Toyota Hilux (+28.5%) at 4.4%. In fact, strikingly the rest of the Top 9 is in positive, with the Haval H9 (+556.7%), Toyota Coaster (+297.8%), Toyota Ace (+215.7%), and Toyota Camry (+93.8%) the best performers. The Toyota Yaris sedan (+20.7%) and Toyota Urban Cruiser (+6.7%) are also up. Just outside the Top 10, the Jetour X50 (+528.6%) surges 75 spots on a year ago to #11.
