New car sales in Kuwait limit their fall over the First Half of 2018 to -1% to 47.729 registrations, but this evolution becomes positive (+3%) if we count the same set of manufacturers year-on-year, in effect removing the VW and BMW Groups from the 2017 figures as they have stopped reporting in the region this year.  The Top 2 carmakers both vastly outpace the market with a 16% surge each: Toyota sees its share improve from 26% to 30.6% and Mitsubishi from 8.7% to 10.3%, bypassing Nissan (-3%) in the process. The remainder of the Top 10 its unchanged on H1 2017, led by Kia (-11%), Chevrolet (-20%) and Hyundai (-36%) all falling heavily while Honda (+20%) and GMC (+7%) post the largest gains. Further down, notice Chrysler (+1148%), SAIC MG (+168%), Renault (+61%), Aston Martin (+57%) and Land Rover (+42%) all posting spectacular improvements.

Mitsubishi Pajero sales are up 60% year-on-year in Kuwait.

Model-wise, the Toyota Prado (-8%) is headed towards an 8th consecutive annual win in Kuwait despite a worrying drop, just as the remainder of the Top 7 all post extraordinary gains: the Nissan Sunny (+169%), Mitsubishi Pajero (+60%), Toyota Land Cruiser (+54%), Corolla (+54%), Camry (+40%) and Hilux (+27%). Notice also the Nissan Sentra (+1230%), GMC Sierra (+86%), Honda Civic (+85%) and Toyota RAV4 (+54%) also very dynamic in the Top 25 while below, the Chevrolet Equinox is the only recent launch (<12 months) to crack the Top 50 at #50, above the Range Rover Velar (#63), MG ZS (#98) and Suzuki Swift DZire (#121).
