Kuwait H1 2026: Nissan Patrol #1, Haval up 200%

The Haval H9 is up to #6 in Kuwait over H1 2026.

New light vehicle sales in Kuwait drop -21.8% year-on-year over the First Half of 2026 to 53,849 units. Toyota (-44.8%) completely implodes over the period and loses almost ten percentage points of share in the process, going from 31% a year ago to 21.9% now. It is however still the distant leader in the market. Nissan (-8.7%) comes second followed by Mitsubishi (+5.7%) and Ford (-33.3%), replicating last year’s Top 4. Jetour (-4.4%) climbs up three spots to round out the Top 5 with 5.3% share while Changan is immobile, earning a spot inside the Top 10 at #9. Haval (+200%) and Chery (+24.3%) shine below. Inside the Top 30, we welcome BYD (#14), Chery (#16), Denza (#22), Exeed (#27), iCAUR (#29) and Jaecoo (#30). 

Model-wise, the Nissan Patrol (+18.9%) goes against the wind with a significant YoY lift and snaps the top spot off the Toyota Land Cruiser (-61.8%) freefalling to #3. The Toyota Prado (-7.8%) stays at #2 while the Jetour T2 (-21.3%) is down one spot to #4. Outstanding performance for the Haval H9 (+268.5%) up 39 spots on H1 2025 to #6, withe the Mitsubishi L200 (+25.1%) and Outlander (+13%) also managing upticks. The BYD Ti7 (aka Fang Cheng Bao Tai 7) is the best-selling recent launch at #26, followed by the Chery Arrizo 5 (#36), Denza B5 (#38), Jetour G700 (#53), Mitsubishi Destinator (#57) and MG Rakan (#58).
