Angola Full Year 2017: Suzuki Alto 800 reclaims top spot

New vehicle sales in Angola take a harsh hit in 2017 a -53% year-on-year to just 4.306 registrations. Fiat remains the most popular automaker despite a 58% drop to 14.3% share, distancing Suzuki at 12.3% (-36%), Kia at 10.6% (-38%), Renault (-16%), up three spots to #4 and Hyundai down 61% to round up the Top 5. Mazda (-58%), Ford (-67%) and Toyota (-84%) fare the worst in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Chevrolet (-21%) and Nissan (-31%) fare the best. Below, JMC (-8%), Isuzu (-14%) and Ssangyong (-18%) make themselves noticed.
The Renault Sandero is up 26% to #3 this year.
Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto 800 (-24%) reclaims the pole position it held back in 2015, overtaking the 2016 leader the Fiat Doblo (-47%) while the Renault Sandero shoots up 26% and 11 spots to brilliantly land on the third step of the podium. The Kia Picanto is down 29% but up 5 spots to #4, the Chevrolet N300 (aka Wuling Rongguang) is up 11% and 8 ranks to #5, the Hyundai Grand i10 is up 6% and 12 spots to #5 and the Fiat Panda is down 68% and 5 ranks to #7. The Renault Duster surges 125% and 29 spots to break into the annual Angolan Top 10 at #9. The Hyundai Creta (#12) is the best-selling newcomer for 2016 with the Kia Sportage (+5%), Soul (+22%) and Suzuki Swift (-16%) also breaking into the Top 15.
