UK nations May 2016: Dacia Sandero consistently strong

Thanks to SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers in May for each UK nation. Keep in mind this data is already included in the UK monthly updates, this is a zoom in by nation. England (+3%) and Scotland (+2%) are in line with the overall UK market (+2.6%) whereas Wales is up just 0.7% and Northern Ireland recedes 1%. Year-to-date, all nations gain ground vs. the same period in 2015 with England the most dynamic at +4.6% to 996.268 units, Northern Ireland up 2.5% to 28.031, Wales up 1.8% to 41.103 and Scotland up 1.2% to 96.043.

The Ford Kuga is up to #2 overall in Wales. 

For the second consecutive month, the Ford Fiesta manages to top the sales charts of every single nation, distancing the VW Golf in England, the Vauxhall Corsa in Northern Ireland and Scotland and an impressive Ford Kuga in Wales. The Hyundai Tucson remains extremely strong at #3 in Northern Ireland where the Kia Sportage is #8 and the Renault Kadjar #10 year-to-date. The Dacia Sandero brilliantly makes the Top 10 of each UK nation bar England: it ranks #8 in Scotland and #9 in Northern Ireland as well as Wales. Other great performers include the Mercedes C-Class up to #6 in England and the Vauxhall Mokka at #4 in Wales and #6 in Scotland and the Renault Captur and Clio both making it into the Scottish Top 10.
