The Croatian new car market is up a splendid 19% year-on-year in March to 4.119 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total to 9.129 units, up 13% on the same period in 2016. Opel shoots up to pole position thanks to sales up 34% to 577 and 14% share, bypassing archenemy Volkswagen (-6%) with Skoda (+4%) in tow. Ford (+118%), Toyota (+209%), Hyundai (+115%), Fiat (+356%), BMW (+141%) and Volvo (+156%) display spectacular year-on-year gains.
Model-wise, the Opel Astra takes the lead both in March (8% share) and year-to-date (5.1%) whereas it ranked just 7th after two months. It is followed by the Skoda Octavia, Ford Focus and VW Golf while the Suzuki Vitara stays strong in 5th place. The Opel Corsa (#7), Toyota Yaris (#10) and Suzuki Swift (#13) also shine, but the surprise of the month comes from the Fiat Tipo, frankly breaking into the Top 20 at #12 which is already higher than at home in Italy (#22)…
