New car sales in Croatia are back into negative territory in October at 2.482 registrations, down 0.6% year-on-year. The year-to-date total is however still above the same period in 2014 at +3% to 31.299 units. Flying in the face of the company’s current emissions-related turmoil, Volkswagen sales are up a flamboyant 34% on October 2014 to 458 units and 18.5% share, almost three times the amount of the #2, sister company Skoda at 6.8% (-12%). Opel (+4%) and Peugeot (+3%) follow while Ford (+28%) leaps 8 spots on September to 5th place. Seat is up 5-fold on a year ago to #9 with 113 units, single-handedly lifted by the Ibiza up to #7. The VW Golf keeps the models pole position it also holds year-to-date thanks to a strong 197 units and 7.9% share above the VW Polo (4.2%) and Ford Focus (3.7%). Recently launched, the Hyundai Tucson (#9) and Suzuki Vitara (#10) remain inside the Croatian Top 10.
