After dropping by 5% in July, the Croatian new car market is back into positive territory in August, up a still shy 2% year-on-year to 1,573 registrations, by far the slowest month of the year due to the Summer holidays. Brand-wise, Volkswagen leads the way again and after an extravagant 21.6% share in July the German manufacturer is down to a more reasonable 16.9% in August, very close to its year-to-date level (16.5%). Renault is up to #2 and 7.9% vs. #6 and 5.7% ytd, and Peugeot up 3 to #3 and Citroen down one to #4 make it 3 French carmakers in the Croatian Top 4. In the models ranking, the VW Golf and Polo dominate, the Renault Clio is up 3 spots on July to jump onto the podium at #3 and the Skoda Rapid is up 8 to #4 with 3% share, by far its best performance so far in the country.
