The Belgian new car market is down 2% year-on-year in January to 49,584 registrations, and if Volkswagen keeps the lead of the brands ranking thanks to sales up 5% to 4,682 and 9.4% share, there is a lot of movement below. Potentially boosted by the success of the 2008, Peugeot climbs up to 2nd place overall with 4,014 units and 8.1% share, passing Renault at 3,799 sales and 7.7%, down a harsh 18% on January 2013. BMW loves January in Belgium: after ranking #2 last year it is up to an equally impressive 4th place in 2014 at 3,574 units and 7.2%. Mercedes is up 8% year-on-year to a strong 8th place at 5.5% share, Toyota is up 20% to #10, Dacia up 39% to #12, Chevrolet up 80% to #18 and Suzuki up 44% to #19. Finally, notice Maserati up 720% to #35 with 41 sales.
