As is the tradition on BSCB we have a look at the Thai pick-up ranking each month. Why? Because Thailand is the 1 ton pick-up factory of the world and it’s always interesting to see how these fare ‘at home’. At the moment: not so well as the rest of the Thai market thanks to the difficult political and economic pass the country is going through at the moment. Sales of 1 ton pick-ups are down 35% year-on-year in October to just 35,015 registrations, but are still led by the Toyota Hilux at 13,247 units and 37% follows by the Isuzu D-Max at 11,387 sales and 31.8%. The Mitsubishi Triton (8.6%), Ford Ranger (7.6%), Mazda BT-50 (5.8%) and Chevrolet Colorado (5.5%) all lodge market shares above their year-to-date levels.
