Canada October 2013: Ford F-Series beats annual record already!

New car sales in Canada are up a strong 7% year-on-year in October to 145,657 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,497,935 units, up 4% on 2012. Thanks to 9,930 sales in October, up 24% year-on-year, the Ford F-Series manages to beat its all-time annual sales record after only 10 months, adding up to 106,861 so far in 2013, that’s more than the 106,358 units it sold over the Full Year 2012! This is also the new sales record for any vehicle in Canada… If it continues at this rhythm, the F-Series could finish 2013 at around 125,000 sales.
Mazda3 sales are up 52% in Canada thanks to the 2014 model.
The Honda Civic is also in excellent shape this month, up 36% year-on-year to #2 and 6,852 units, but remaining #3 year-to-date below the Dodge RAM. The Ford Escape hits its best ranking in a year, up 11% to #4 with 4,830 sales while the Toyota Corolla, up 23% thanks to the new model, now ranks #2 passenger car behind just the Honda Civic and above the Hyundai Elantra and the 2014 model pushes the Mazda3 up 52% to #8.
The Toyota Tundra is up 74% this month.
Notice also the Honda Accord up to #19 vs. #30 year-to-date, the Nissan Versa up to #20 vs. #35, Hyundai Sonata up 40 spots on September to #23 and the Toyota Tundra up 74% on October 2012 and 15 ranks on last month to #35. Further down, the Nissan Pathfinder is up 12 spots to #40, the BMW X5 up 23 to #55, the Mitsubishi Mirage up 39 to #130, Mercedes CLA-Class up 20 to #137, Jeep Cherokee up 67 to #162 and the BMW 4-Series makes its first appearance in the Canadian ranking at #133 with 191 sales.
