Canada September 2013: Ford F-Series & Ram back to high ground

Unlike its US counterpart, the Canadian new car market is up 4% year-on-year in September to 149,287 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,352,278 units, up 3% on 2012. Pick-up trucks are back to delivering indecent growth rates: the Ford F-Series is up 27% on September 2012 to 12,374 units while the Dodge Ram is up 24% to 6,423. Year-to-date, the F-Series is up 15% to a record 96,931 sales. The Honda Civic is up 8% in September, bringing its year-to-date result into neutral at 48,098 units.

Already feeling the effects of its new generation, the Toyota Corolla is up 36% to #5, with other great performers atop the ranking include the Hyundai Santa Fe up 66% to #12, Nissan Rogue up 73% to #23, Nissan Versa up 26% to #25, the Mazda CX-5 up 63% year-on-year but down 8 spots on August to #26, Honda Accord up 104% to #30 and Ford Fiesta up 64% to #32.

Further down, we have a few newcomers in the Canadian ranking this month. The Infiniti Q50 ranks #102 with 313 sales, the Mercedes CLA-Class lands directly at #157 with 108 units, the Mitsubishi Mirage is #169 at 81 sales, the Jeep Cherokee arrives at #229 with 17 units and the Ram ProMaster ranks #240 at 9 sales.
