Once again I can only share with you a brands ranking for Belgium, if you have access to models data please make sure to get in touch! Good news coming from Belgium in September with new car sales up 4% year-on-year to 34,890 registrations, which means the year-to-date total is now up 0.7% at 389,471 units. Volkswagen remains the most popular carmaker in the country in spite of sales down 7% to 3,877 units and 11.1% share, while the next two brands are delivering excellent results: Renault is up 42% to 3,007 sales and 8.6% and Peugeot is up 20% to 2,889 units and 8.3%.

I don’t think I’m taking too many risks in saying this is the result of a successful launch for the Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008 and continuing strong sales for the Clio IV and 208. Other great performers in Belgium this month include BMW up 26% to #5, Mercedes up 19% to #8, Hyundai up a whopping 76% year-on-year to #9 and 5% share vs. 3.8% year-to-date and Tesla starting to deliver a few orders at #31 with 50 units sold vs. just one a year ago.

Previous month: Belgium August 2013: Mercedes and Renault in great shape

One year ago: Belgium September 2012: VW Golf, Renault Megane and Scenic on top
