The UK new car market brilliantly posts a 17th consecutive month of year-on-year gain in July at +13% to 162,228 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,325,851 units, up 10% on 2012. The Ford Fiesta keeps the lead with 9,089 sales and 5.6% ahead of the Ford Focus at 7,229 units and 4.5% but the good surprise of the month is the landing in third place of the Vauxhall Astra for the first time since January thanks to 6,165 sales and 3.8%, ahead of the VW Golf and Vauxhall Corsa.
The Nissan Qashqai is back up 3 spots on June to #6 which is also its year-to-date ranking, and we welcome back two models inside the UK Top 10 this month: the Nissan Juke does so for the third time ever after last January and February and equals its highest ever ranking at #9 with 2,943 sales and 1.8% while the Fiat 500 is among the 10 most popular cars in the country for the 5th time in the last 15 months after April 2012 (#10), May 2012 (#10), June 2012 (#10) and April 2013 (#8) and the 8th time overall after October 2009 (#10), December 2009 (#9) and January 2010.
