June new car sales in Bulgaria are estimated at 2,424 units, bringing the year-to0-date total to 11,671 units, down just 3% on 2012 with is a fine performance in the depressed European context of date. Note however than an estimated 25% of sales get re-exported in the region. We are now used to a very volatile Bulgarian monthly models ranking and as such, June gives us its lot of surprises. The Nissan Qashqai is up 7 spots on May to become the most popular vehicle this month thanks to 108 sales and 4.5% share, ahead of the Dacia Sandero up one rank to #2 at 81 units and 3.3% while the Kia Sportage is back up 4 spots to round up the podium with 72 sales and 3%. The Sportage brilliantly remains in pole position year-to-date at 361 units and 3.1%.

Great Wall Voleex C30 Bulgaria June 2013The Voleex C30 is the 4th Great Wall model to go on sale in Bulgaria.

The VW Polo is up 38 ranks to #4, the Dacia Dokker down 4 to a still very impressive #6, the Kia Rio up one to #11 vs. #21 year-to-date, the Kia Cee’d up 5 to #12, the Renault Megane up 67 to #13, Mazda6 up 52 to #15 and the Peugeot 107 is up 133 to #18. Notice also the Renault Captur up 64 ranks to break into the Bulgarian Top 30 for the first time at #29. After starting with a bang last year when they inaugurated locally the first Chinese assembly plant in Europe, Great Wall’s sales bubble seems to have burst already: it is #16 in the brands ranking with its best-seller the Voleex C10 at a paltry #18 year-to-date. A 4th model was launched this month though: the Voleex C30, landing at #159.
