France 1-27 May 2013: Citroen C4 and Dacia Sandero up

After 27 days in May, the French new car market is down 11% to 104,150 registrations. The Peugeot 208 is still in the lead thanks to 6,244 sales and 6% share, well ahead of the Renault Clio IV at 4,644 units and 4.5%. The Citroen C4 brilliantly gains one rank compared to last week to take the third spot with 2,696 sales and 2.6%, up 6% year-on-year. If it holds this ranking until the end of the month it will be the C4 nameplate’s very first podium finish since its original launch in November 2004, beating the #6 it reached in October 2005, August 2006 and February 2007. The Dacia Sandero is also up one spot to #4 at 2,555 units and 2.5%, up 51% year-on-year, followed by the Peugeot 3008 (-8%) and Citroen C3 (-36%).
