Things are not getting better for new car sales in Romania, and far from it: March is down a horrid 32% year-on-year to 3,324 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total after 3 months to just 11,233 units, down 20% on 2012. Threatened by the Skoda Octavia last month, the Dacia Logan is back to uncontested domination of the models ranking in March, up to 15.2% share thanks to 506 sales, its best market share so far in 2013. The Dacia Duster is back up to #2 for the third time in the last 4 months at 241 units and 7.3% while the Skoda Octavia rounds up the podium with 195 sales and 5.9% but is still #2 year-to-date.
The VW Golf is up 2 spots on last months to #4 at 3.1% share ahead of the Dacia Sandero very solid at 3% and the Hyundai i20 and Opel Astra both at a very strong 2.9% share. The Dacia Dokker breaks into the Romanian (and any country in the world’s) Top 10 for the first time, up 16 ranks on February to #9 at 65 units and 2%, the Renault Fluence is up 7 to #10, the Skoda Rapid solid at #20, VW Touareg up 21 to #22 and the Ford B-Max up 17 to #24.
