Thailand Pick-ups September 2012: Mazda BT-50 impresses

Second Thailand update for today, with pick-up sales for September now in… The Toyota Hilux widens the gap with its arch-rival the Isuzu D-Max by selling a huge 21,029 units in Thailand alone for a 42.4% market share of the Thai pick-up market. This is to be compared to just under 40% year-to-date, vs. 15,391 and 31% in September and 31.2% year-to-date for the D-Max. At this rate, the Hilux will sell over 200,000 units in Thailand for the first time in the history of the nameplate…
While the Mitsubishi Triton continues to wind down at 8.8% share (vs. 10.4% ytd), the Mazda BT-50 is up to #4 with 3,065 sales and 6.2%, passing the Chevrolet Colorado at 2,984 units and 6%. The Nissan Navara ranks #6 while the Ford Ranger has a month off at just 1,185 sales.
