Oman July 2012: Hyundai Elantra up to #5

The Omani car market is going from strength to strength in 2012, up an amazing 62% year-on-year in July to 20,677 registrations. This brings the year-to-date total to 116,460 units, up 23% on 2011. The Toyota Hilux continues to reign supreme in the country with 2,830 sales and a massive 13.7% market share this month, making it 16,449 and 14.1% year-to-date. The Toyota Land Cruiser is up one spot to #2 with 1,752 units and 8.5%, followed by the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up at 1,609 sales and 7.8% and the Toyota Prado with 1,486 units and 7.2%.

Nissan Patrol

The performer of the month is the Hyundai Elantra, up 11 spots on June to land in 5th position with an excellent 753 sales and 3.6% share vs. #10 and 2.1% year-to-date. Hyundai definitely has a great month, with the i20 up 15 ranks to #24, the Atos up 9 to #28, the Veloster up to #37 and the i30 appearing at #97. The Nissan Sunny also stays strong at #6 and 3% vs. #9 and 2.3% ytd. Other great performers in Oman this month include the Kia Cerato up to #11, the Nissan Patrol up to #12, the Nissan Armada up 20 ranks to #23, the Toyota Aurion up 10 to #38, the Nissan Qashqai up 105 to #43 and the Nissan Patrol Pick-up up to #50.
