As part of the subsidies on low emission cars came to an end on July 1, this month new car sales in the Netherlands are predictably down 26% year-on-year to 31,078 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 362,515 units, down 2% on 2011. The Renault Megane manages to keep the pole position in the models ranking for the third month in a row, hitting its highest share in the country so far at 6.3% thanks to 1,962 sales. It is now #2 year-to-date at 11,455 units and 3.2% vs. #19 over the Full Year 2011.

Toyota Prius+

Excellent performance of the VW Up!, up 11 spots on June to a shiny second place with 1,409 sales and 4.5% share, by very far its best ever score in the country, beating the #5 and 2.7% in hit last April. The VW Polo stays #3 at 4.4% share but still leads year-to-date by far at 13,729 sales and 3.8%. The next 5 models all deliver massive gains vs. last month: the Toyota Yaris is up 12 ranks to #4, the Ford Ka is up 19 to #5, the Peugeot 107 up 8 to #6, the Citroen C1 up 23 to #7 and the Kia Picanto up 7 to #8.

Seat Mii

The Peugeot 208 breaks into the Dutch Top 10 for the first time at #9 with 667 sales and 2.1% while the Seat Ibiza is up 24 spots to #14. Brilliant month for the Toyota Prius+, landing directly at #17 with 471 units and 1.5%.
