Czech Republic August 2011: Kia Ceed resists on podium

Czech car sales are up a massive 17% in August at 14,105 registrations and 2% year-to-date at 114,507 units. It’s the usual suspects on top: the Skoda Octavia is weaker but leads at 12.7% share and the Skoda Fabia comes 2nd at a solid 10.3%. After an 18-month lull the Kia Ceed ranks 3rd and best-selling foreign model for the 2nd month in a row, improving its share to 3.1% thanks to 431 sales.

The Seat Ibiza is up 14 spots to #8, the Ford Fusion is back in the Top 10 at #9 and the Chevrolet Orlando resonates with Czech consumers, up 14 spots to #25 at 119 units and 0.8%. 3 newcomers in the Top 100 this month: the Hyundai i40 at #54, the Hyundai Elantra new generation at #68 and the Fiat Freemont at #97.
