Mexico May 2011: VW Clasico now a real threat for Nissan Tsuru
Car sales in Mexico continue on their good run, up 11% in May at 68,634 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 344,761 units, also up 11%. For the first time in 8 years, the Nissan Tsuru’s best-seller title is now genuinely threatened: at end-May the two models are only separated by 285 units, with the Tsuru at 24,575 sales or 7.1% share and the Clasico at 24,290 or 7%…
Chevrolet has an excellent month: the Aveo is up one spot and passes the Nissan Tiida to rank 3rd at 4.7% share, the Chevy 3 puertas is also up 1 spot to #5 at 3.4% share, the Chevy 4 puertas ranks 8th at 2.4% and the Cruze is up to #11 at 1.6%, its best-ever performance in Mexico.
