Portugal 2002-2003: Renault Clio takes command

Losing less ground than the rest of the models atop the ranking, the Renault Clio becomes the best-selling car in Portugal in 2002 with 16,294 sales (-9%) and stays there in 2003 at 11,145 units, down 32%. The Peugeot 206 gains one spot in 2002 to rank #2 with 13,971 sales (-20%) but drops to #3 in 2003 at 10,426 units (-25%).
#1 in 2001, the Opel Corsa is down to #2 in 2002 with 13,863 sales (-22%) and to #5 in 2003 at 9,832 units (-29%). The Peugeot 307 takes off in 2003, up 22% year-on-year to land in 2nd place with 10,543 sales. Other popular models over the period are the VW Polo #4 in 2002, VW Golf #5 in 2002, Fiat Punto #6 in 2002 and Citroen C3 #7 in 2003.
