Czech Republic December 2012: Skoda Citigo and Rapid shine

New car sales in the Czech Republic are down a depressing 15% year-on-year in December to 12,784 registrations, bringing the Full Year total to 174,009 units, up just 0.4% on 2011. The Skoda Octavia leads the way this month with 1,360 sales and 10.6% (vs. 12.9% in the Full Year) ahead of the Skoda Fabia at 1,057 units and 8.3% vs. 8.2%. Excellent performance of the Hyundai i30 back up to #3 for the 5th time this year with 492 sales and 3.8%, its 2nd best ever market share in the country after the 3.9% it hit last June…
The Skoda Citigo is up 5 spots on November to reach #6 with 291 units and 2.3%, its highest ever ranking and market share, also hit last August. The Skoda Rapid is back up 8 ranks to #12 like last October with 230 sales and 1.8%, the Hyundai ix35 is up 11 to #13, the Dacia Logan up 17 to #22, Honda CR-V up 8 to #27, Hyundai i40 at #30 vs. #61 in the Full Year, Mercedes M-Class up 18 to #41 and the Volvo XC60 up 20 to #44. Among recent launches, notice the Ford B-Max down 15 to #34, the Dacia Lodgy down 5 to #36 and the Peugeot 301 down 12 to #82. Brand-wise, Hyundai is up to a fantastic third place in December with 9.4% share just below Volkswagen at 9.7%…
