As usual we are getting Turkish sales figures with one month delay, and September is up a very encouraging 24% year-on-year to 49,360 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 379,617 units, down 8% on 2011. The Fiat Linea delivers an 8th consecutive month in pole position with an excellent 3,244 sales and 6.6%, reinforcing its 2012 year-to-date leadership at 24,200 units and 6.4%. The Renault Fluence is back up to #2 with 2,573 sales and 5,2% just as the facelifted version was unveiled at the Istanbul Motor Show. The Ford Fiesta rounds up the podium like in the year-to-date ranking.
Other great performers this month include the Toyota Auris up to #4 vs. #13 year-to-date, the Hyundai i20 up 4 spots to #6 at 1,547 units and 3.1%, a ranking and market share record for the model with the #6 it hit last February, the Honda Civic up 3 to #12, Toyota Corolla up 5 to #11, Nissan Qashqai up 3 to #12, Mercedes C-Class up 10 to #15 and Hyundai ix35 up to #23.
The Renault Symbol, #1 in Turkey in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011, is still very low this month at #17 with 905 sales and 1.8%, but it manages to keep its 4th place year-to-date at 14,325 units and 3.8% and an all-new Symbol was unveiled at the Istanbul Motor Show that should definitely get the nameplate back atop the Turkish ranking.
