The Slovak car market continues to shine, up 17% in April at 5,675 registrations and 29% year-to-date at 21,372 units. The Top 2 best selling models stay unchanged: the Skoda Octavia is lower than usual at 7.3% share vs. 8.9% year-to-date and the Skoda Fabia is solid at 6.4% vs. 6.9% year-to-date.

The locally produced Kia Sportage is up to a fantastic 3rd place with 225 sales and 4% share, a position it last held in January. The Sportage is now also #3 year-to-date with 674 sales and 3.2%, compared to #21 last year. The VW Golf is making up for a very shy start of the year by jumping up to 4th this month with 3% share, it is #8 year-to-date. The Suzuki SX4 is down to #5 but stays strong at 2.9%.

The Kia Cee’d is up to #6 with 2.6% and the Hyundai ix35 stands at a best-ever 7th place with 104 sales and 1.8%. Other great performances this month include the VW Passat, up 18 spots on last month to #11, the Seat Ibiza, up 15 spots to #16 and the Hyundai ix20, up 30 spots to #20.
