Czech Republic 2008: Fabia #1, Ford Fusion up to #3
Ford Fusion
The Czech market is up a healthy 8% in 2008 at 143,661 registrations. No surprises on top: the Skoda Fabia is #1 for the 9th consecutive year, and its share decreases continues, minus 4 percentage points this year to 16.5% (sales down 14% at 23,659). The Skoda Octavia is also down, by 15% at 12,711 units and 8.8% share.
Astounding performance of the Ford Fusion: it kicks the Skoda Roomster out of the podium with sales up 74% at 5,067 units and 3.5% market share! The Roomster is down 8% at 4,131 sales and 2.9% share… Two cars in strong progess follow: the Peugeot 207 in 5th at +37% and the Kia Cee’d in 6th at +60%, and two cars make a remarkable comeback into the Top 10: the VW Polo in 8th (+75%) and the Skoda Superb in 10th (+74%).
