Spain 1993: Opel Astra new best-seller

In a market down 16% at 710,000 units, the Opel Astra sees its sales increase by 4% and climbs up 5 spots to go from 6th in 1992 to best-seller in 1993 with 44,754 sales and 6.3% market share.

Renault 19

The Renault 19 stays #2 at 43,149 sales and 6.1%, ahead of the Ford Escort/Orion at 41,217 units and 5.8% and the Renault Clio, leader in 1992 but down 33% to #5 this year with 40,635 sales and 5.7%. The Seat Ibiza is back into the Top 5 thanks to the new generation, up 4 spots and 19% to 40,724 sales and 5.5%, while the Seat Toledo gets out of it, down 36% and 4 ranks to #9.

The VW Golf climbs into the Top 10 at #10 with 26,114 sales and 3.7%, the Ford Mondeo lands directly at an astounding 11th place thanks to 21,363 units sold, the Renault 21 is still #15, the BMW 3 Series ranks #20, the Nissan Primera is the best-selling Japanese at #21 with 8,876 sales and 1.2% share ahead of the Nissan Micra at #27, the Rover Montego is at a surprising #39 and the Hyundai Pony is the only Korean model in the Top 50 at #43.
