Brazil July 2026: BYD at 8.8% share, Geely EX2 breaks into Top 10
The Geely EX2 is up to #9 in Brazil in July.
265,907 new cars hit Brazilian roads in July, a splendid 15.5% year-on-year improvement. This is the highest July volume in 12 years: since the 279,815 units of July 2014. The year-to-date tally is now up 19.5% to 1,626,541, here too the strongest total at this stage of the year since 2014 (1,862,418). Fiat (-3.1%) underperforms and falls to 18.4% share vs. 19.7% so far this year. Volkswagen (+1.2%) also trails the market but holds onto the 2nd place while Chevrolet (+19.5%) shoots up but remains a distant third. BYD (+142.1%) posts another fantastic result and climbs to 23,465 sales and 8.8% share, both records. Fellow Chinese GWM (+137.2%) at #9, Geely (+26535.7%) at #11 and Jaecoo (+393.7%) at #16 also break all their records. Caoa Chery (+9.4%), a Chinese trailblazer in Brazil, is now down to #12 and loses share YoY.
Over in the models charts, the Fiat Strada (+15.6%) sails ahead at 5.6% share, distancing the VW Polo (-20.1%) in great difficulty. The VW Tera (+213.3%) is back up to #3 vs. #6 year-to-date, while the Chevrolet Onix (+21.1%) and Fiat Argo (-13.6%) round out the Top 5. The BYD Dolphin Mini (+141.3%) steps up to a new ranking record at #6 as does the BYD Dolphin (+397.5%) at #8. Meanwhile the new Geely EX2 breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #9. Notice also the Fiat Toro (+45.5%) at #11 and the GWM Haval H6 (+70.2%) up to an all-time high #12. Below the Geely GX2, the next best-selling recent launches are the Toyota Yaris Cross (#16), Honda WR-V (#27), Chevrolet Sonic (#34) and Nissan Kait (#36).
