Hungary June/H1 2026: Nissan reexports 81.4% of its volume

The Nissan Qashqai is #1 in Hungary over H1 but 80% are reexported.

15,100 new passenger cars were registered in Hungary in June, a fantastic +31.2% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally halfway through the year is up 74,905, up 13.3% on H1 2025. Including LCV the June tally stands at 17,686 with H1 volumes up 11.3% to 86,697. Petrol sales account for 20.6% of total PC volumes over H1 vs. 23.9% last year, diesel is at 9.5% vs. 11.3%, mild hybrids are at 35.6% vs. 35.7%, full hybrids at 15.8% vs. 14.8%, PHEVs at 8% vs. 5.5% and BEVs at 10% vs. 8.5% over the First Half of 2025. Private sales represent 36% of the H1 volume vs. 64% for fleet sales, but looking at BEV sales only the fleet share rises to 76% vs. 80% over the Full Year 2025.

Skoda (+74.1%) threepeats at #1 in the PC brands ranking with 11.3% share vs. 9.9% over H1, keeping YTD leader Toyota (+25%) in 2nd place. Suzuki (+26.8%) is up 26.8% to #3. Nissan shoots up 468.6% to #4 and 7.1% share and ranks #3 year-to-date at +89.6% to 9.1% share. However this is almost entirely due to reexports which account for a whopping 81.4% of its sales over the First Half of 2025. The average reexport ratio is 18.7% vs. 21.8% last year. BYD (+227.2%), Hyundai (+45.8%) and MG (+41%) also shine below. Over in the PC+LCV brands ranking and over H1, Toyota (+16.1%) leads the way with 11.5% share above Ford (-16.6%) and Skoda (+25.9%). Nissan is up 86.1% to #4.

Looking at models (PC+LCV), the Skoda Octavia (+78%) is in the lead above the Nissan Qashqai (+713.7%), the latter owing its score to roughly 80% reexports. The Suzuki S-Cross (+68.7%) and Vitara (+33.5%) follow with the Toyota Corolla (+45.1%), Hyundai Tucson (+194%) and Kia Sportage (+69.7%) in tow. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+54%), Skoda Kodiaq (+41.9%) and Toyota C-HR (+21.8%) also make it into the Top 10. As for H1 figures, the Nissan Qashqai (+124.1%) is in pole position ahead of the Skoda Octavia (+15%), Suzuki S-Cross (-9.9%) and Vitara (-14.1%). The Chery Tiggo 7 (#25) is the best-selling recent launch above the Dacia Bigster (#28) and Omoda 5 (#30).
