Kazakhstan April 2026: Chevrolet Cobalt at 25.5% share

The Chevrolet Cobalt is ultra dominant in Kazakhstan in April.

The Kazakh new vehicle market is up 8.5% year-on-year in April to 20,857 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -0.7% to 65,610. This month Chevrolet (+101.9%) more than doubles its year-ago volume to reach 26.4% share, more than double #2 Hyundai (-39.5%) at 12.7% of the market. Chevrolet snaps the YTD top spot in the process. Kia (-13.4%) suffers at #3 while Changan (+172.4%) surges ahead at #4. Haval (+31.8%) also makes itself noticed at #5 and is followed by three fellow Chinese marques: Chery (-7.5%), Jetour (-19%) and Geely (-5.4%). BYD (+209.6%) rounds out the Top 10 in spectacular fashion.

Model-wise, the Chevrolet Cobalt (+142.4%) soars to a surreal 25.5% share, accounting for 97% of the brand’s April volume. The Hyundai Tucson (-51.6%) is in complete freefall but stays at #2, followed by the Hyundai Mufasa (+6.6%). The Kia Sportage (-27.4%) is down one spot on March to #4. The new Changan CS35 Max is an instant blockbuster in Kazakhstan: after landing at #8 last month it is now #5. The Changan CS55 Plus (+127.8%), Haval Jolion (+85.7%), Toyota Camry (+65.6%) and Chery Tiggo 2 (+48.1%) also shine below.
