Kazakhstan July 2026: Changan (+171.7%) and Geely (+134.7%) stand out

The Changan CS35 Max reaches a record 5% share in July.

21,380 new vehicles hit Kazakh roads in July, a sturdy 6% year-on-year improvement. This way, the year-to-date volume is now up 1.8% to 127,269. Hyundai (-0.03%) is stable YoY and takes the brands lead both for the month (17.4% share) and year-to-date (16.5%). It dislodges Chevrolet (-29.5%), #2 with 13.4% of the market and 16.1% YTD. Kia (+14.8%) jumps back up four spots on June to #3, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. Changan (+171.7%) continues to surge year-on-year, down slightly on a record 11.7% share last month to 11.5%. Geely (+134.7%) is up to #6 and Chery (+35.6%) up to #5. Further down, BYD is up 61.1% to #11 and GAZ is up 43.2% to #12 while newcomer Soueast repeats at a record #13 and Lixiang is #18 again. All in all, Chinese manufacturers are up 34.6% to 10,321 sales and 48.3% share vs. 38% in July 2025.

Model-wise, the Chevrolet Cobalt (-21.5%) easily keeps the lead despite freefalling year-on-year at 12.5% share vs. 15% year-to-date. The Hyundai Tucson (+52.8%) soars and stays in 2nd place above the new Changan CS35 Max in third place at 5%, a new share record and a second podium finish in the past three months. The Kia Cerato (+293.5%) is up 4-fold year-on-year and 15 spots on June to #4 while the Kia Sportage (-14.1%) rounds out the Top 5. Strong showings also by the Changan CS55 Plus (+79.6%) and Toyota Camry (+36.8%). Below, the Changan CS75 Plus (+429.4%) is up to #11, the BYD Song Plus (+60.6%) up to #15, the GAZ Gazelle (+43.2%) up to #17 and the Jetour X70 Plus (+48.5%) up to #19.
