Syria Q1 2026: Kia topples Hyundai in reviving market

Kia is the best-selling brand in Syria over Q1.

Thanks to the improving political and economic situation, the Syrian new car market is slowly reviving. It goes from 103 sales over Q1 2025 to 1,828 a year later. No less than 6 brands have reentered the market to sell alongside Hyundai. In fact, it’s Kia who takes the brands lead over the period with 43.5% share toppling long time leader Hyundai at 35.8%. MG is very successful at 16.6% while the rest of the carmakers returning here are all at 2.5% share or less. Model-wise, the Hyundai H100 (+330%) stays on top at 23.5% of the market above its twin the Kia Frontier at 18.5%. The Kia Sorento and Seltos follow with the Hyundai H1-Starex rounding out the Top 5.
