Chile Full Year 2024: 4 pickups in Top 4, Toyota Hilux repeats at #1

302,366 new light vehicles found a buyer in Chile in 2024, a -3.7% year-on-year drop. This is yet another mediocre year as 2023 volumes were off -26.5% on the year prior. Passenger cars are off -7.6% to 61,545, SUVs edge up 2.6% to 147,434, pickups fall -12.7% to 61,282 and vans are down -3.5% to 31,705. Toyota (-9.3%) holds onto the brands pole position despite a hefty fall to 7.8% share. Hyundai (-0.05%) overtakes Chevrolet (-5.1%) for 2nd place while Suzuki (+12.6%) edges past Kia (+2.3%) for #4. GWM (+80.2%) surges to #8 (including Haval sales) with Ford (+18.2%) also in great shape at #7.

Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux (-3.9%) repeats at #1 with an unchanged 2.9% share just as the Mitsubishi L200 (-0.1%) stays at #2 with 2.6% of the market. The Top 4 is entirely composed of pickup trucks, with the GWM Poer (+15.8%) up two spots to #3 and the Ford Ranger (+20.9%) up six to #4. The Chevrolet Groove (-9.8%) is the best of the rest once again at #5, distancing the Kia Soluto (+0.5%). The Maxus T60 (-29.4%) is in difficulty at #7 while the Peugeot Partner (+18.4%) advances four ranks to #8.
