Greece October 2024: BYD and Dolphin break into Top 10

The BYD Dolphin ranks #10 in Greece in October.

It’s a fourth straight month of decline for the Greek new car market in October at -14.3% year-on-year to 9,670 units. The year-to-date tally remains in positive however, just, at +1.7% to 117,705. Toyota (+66.8%) continues to defy gravity with an outstanding year-on-year gain to 18.3% share. It is followed by two brands in negative: Suzuki (-12.6%) and Peugeot (-3.1%), exchanging their ranking vs. September to return to the YTD order. BMW (+9.7%) shines once again and repeats at #4 with 7% share vs. just 4.5% year-to-date. Nissan (+34.6%) and Audi (+8.1%) also stand out in the remainder of the Top 10, but the best performance is delivered by BYD breaking into the Top 10 for the first time at #10 vs. #21 last month and #26 so far this year.

Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+61.6%) dominates again with 6% share ahead of the Toyota Yaris (+93.3%) at #2 like last month and YTD. The BMW X1 (+28.9%) repeats at a record third place with the Suzuki Vitara (-40%) and Peugeot 2008 (+21.2%) rounding out the Top 5. Below the Toyota C-HR (+27.6%) in excellent shape, the Toyota Corolla Cross (+1900%) reaches an all-time high 7th place, eclipsing its previous record of #9 established last August. The Nissan Qashqai (+3.8%) rallies back up 50 spots on last month to #9 while the BYD Dolphin is up 55 ranks to sign a first ever Top 10 finish at #10.
